“The world is indeed full of peril, and in it there are many dark places; but still there is much that is fair, and though in all lands love is now mingled with grief, it grows perhaps the greater.”

"Gillian Anderson gives shatteringly powerful performance."

”There’s no doubt that Gillian Anderson gives a stellar performance as Blanche DuBois (…) Her Blanche is a deeply sensuous, tactile woman whose natural instinct is to stroke Stanley’s hairy forearms or to provocatively disrobe in front of a flimsy curtain. But Anderson also conveys Blanche’s emotional solitude: she is especially fine in the scene with her nervous beau, Mitch, where you sense two helpless people desperately reaching out to each other.”

"There is manipulativeness at the heart of her fantasy life, but Anderson never allows us to forget the well of despair and loneliness from which it springs (…) Anderson, like the great actresses who have played Blanche in the past, tugs at the emotional heartstrings, delving into the profound sadness of this desperate washed-up woman right up until the final heart-breaking finale when she is carted off to a mental hospital."

"Anderson was born to play Blanche. She has the hauteur at her fingertips, and the cracked mysteriousness in her eyes"

"The acting is superb, with Gillian Anderson giving the performance of her career as Blanche DuBois."

"Gillian Anderson is electrifying as Blanche DuBois.  For all her sensuous appeal, this pretentious schoolteacher is a lonely figure, acting out a series of romantic delusions, and Anderson stunningly articulates her mix of carefully preserved glamour and neurotic fragility."

You must save your strength for Robb, she told herself. He is the only one you can help. You must be as fierce and hard as the north, Catelyn Tully. You must be a Stark for true now, like your son.

does galadriel own shoes

galadriel has no shoes. galadriel needs no shoes.

This is a bitter adventure, if it must end so; and not a mountain of gold can amend it. Yet I am glad that I have shared in your perils - that has been more than any Baggins deserves.
